While it is all awful and seriously needs to be revised the fact that I am that close to reaching the end is extremely reassuring. I can at least pass this thing.

Saying I did any prep for my presentation today is a lie.

Whoops.

Ah well, it is only for the other postgrads. I can just be like ‘This is my dissertation. Thank you, and good bye.”

Or I can go on a rant about how I have fallen in love with Trajan.

when you’re younger, being smart and being able to pass classes easily without studying is not a good thing

because then when you hit a point where you do have to study for classes, you have no idea how to study

Oh no, I have fallen into a hole of science fiction articles on jstor. And by oh no I mean, oh yes.

2 20,000 word projects in two year. Only now am I regretting going to grad school right away. And to think I considered doing my phd right away. 140,000 words in 5 years…

DOOOONE

Fuck yeah.

And by done I mean, I finished the taught portion of my MA and will spend the next 3.5 months continually researching.

So yeah. I’m done?

There are more references to the gods in Lucan’s Bellum Civile (229) than Vergil’s Aeneid (200 - and it is longer by like 2,000 lines!), and yet scholars continue to describe the Bellum Civile as being god-less and devoid of them.

Just because they are not active characters does not mean they are not involved. Their absence from the action is a type of presence, especially since the other characters keep referring to them.
